Conclusion

My research made me more aware of the social injustices, and the need for change. My message is rather than seeking to empathize with protesters, in the case of Biden, or deliver a message of “law and order”, in the case of Trump, politicians should be seeking to reduce instances of police brutality through investments in social services, such as crisis intervention teams. Neither President-elect Biden or outgoing President Trump appear to be interested in reducing societal reliance on police. Rather, they present a tone deaf message, or propose weak reforms designed to preserve the status quo.
